  - EEF2K Human Recombinant produced in E. Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 748 amino acids (1-725 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 84.6kDa. EEF2K is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Eukaryotic elongation factor-2 kinase (EEF2K) is threonine kinase which regulates protein synthesis by means of controlling the rate of peptide chain elongation. Upon activation through a diversity of upstream kinases including AMPK or TRPM7, EEF2K phosphorylates the elongation factor EEF2 at a sole site, renders it unable to bind ribosomes and therefore inactive. In turn, the rate of protein synthesis is being reduced.
