Background
Cytokeratin 8 (CK8) is a high molecular weight B-type cytokeratin, which mainly marks non-squamous epithelium. Therefore, CK8 is mainly used to identify adenocarcinoma and ductal carcinoma. Generally, CK8 is not expressed in squamous carcinoma. It has been reported that CK8 and CK18 are mainly expressed in HCC.
