ARF6 produced in E. Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 195 amino acids (1-175a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 22.2kDa. ARF6 is fused to a 20 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. ARF6 is a part of the ADP ribosylation factor family of GTP-binding proteins. ARF6 is restricted to the plasma membrane, and controls vesicular trafficking, remodeling of membrane lipids, and signaling pathways which lead to actin remodeling. Furthermore, ARF6 is a key player in conservation of organelle integrity, assembly of coat proteins and activation of phospholipase D.
