          α2M is stable if stored at -70 °C or if lyophilized, it can be kept at -20 °C for at least six months and at 4 °C for 1 week without significant loss of activity. Repeated freezing and thawing should be avoided. It is sensitive to acidic pH and denatured below pH 4.0. Ammonia methylamine and hydroxylamine (above pH 7.0) cause irreversible conversion to the inactive form.
