Golgi Apparatus Marker related Antibody Products

Golgi Apparatus Marker related Antibody Products

Background

Golgi marker antibodies are instrumental in investigating the dynamics and morphology of different regions of the Golgi complex. These antibodies also contribute to understanding the roles proteins may have in various functions centered on or influenced by the Golgi. Golgi marker antibodies are crafted to reliably detect key Golgi targets. Amerigo Scientific provides antibodies related to Golgi markers, serving as essential tools for advancing neuroscience research. These antibodies support our valued clients in exploring proteins associated with Golgi markers and can be utilized in biomarker assays for early diagnosis.

Introduction to the Golgi Apparatus

The Golgi apparatus, alias the Golgi complex, plays a pivotal role within the cytoplasmic endomembrane system. It plays a key role in processing and sorting proteins and lipids received from the ER, operating at the crossroads of the secretory, lysosomal, and endocytic pathways. Essential for protein secretion, the Golgi contains glycosylation enzymes that add sugar monomers to proteins as they transit through its membrane stacks. These stacks are highly polar, differing in thickness and membrane protein composition. Vesicles arrive at the cis face from the ER and exit from the trans face, completing their journey through the Golgi.

Exploring Golgi Apparatus Marker Utilization

  • Visualization of the Golgi apparatus utilizes fluorescently labeled anti-marker antibodies for research purposes;
  • Flow cytometric assessment of Golgi apparatus markers on cells is performed. Cells undergo fixation, permeabilization, and then staining employing antibodies targeting the Golgi apparatus markers. Representative cells from each sample are acquired and analyzed.
  • Examining the same Golgi markers across different species facilitates the investigation of evolutionary changes in membrane trafficking mechanisms.
  • The Golgi apparatus plays a role in the pathogenesis and progression of diseases, and certain Golgi apparatus markers may be pivotal in identifying novel targets for disease diagnosis and treatment.
