GenMute™ siRNA Transfection Reagent for Insulinoma

  - GenMute™ siRNA Transfection Reagent for Ins ulinoma (INS) cell is pre-optimized for t ransfecting siRNA to INS. Insulinoma cell is a tumor cell line derived from pancreatic beta cells. Normal beta cells secrete insulin in response to increases in blood glucose. The resulting increase in insulin acts to lower blood glucose back to normal levels at which point further secretion of insulin is stopped. In contrast, the secretion of insulin by INS cell is not properly regulated by glucose and the tumors will continue to secrete insulin causing glucose levels to fall further than normal.

    Store at 4 °C. If stored properly, the product is stable for 12 months or longer.
    
    Note
    
    PepMute™, GenMute™ and PepMute™ Plus siRNA transfection reagents are found to be sometimes toxic ONLY with DMEM base cell culture medium. Culturing your cells with other cell media (supplemented with 10% FBS and antibiotics) will basically eliminate the transfection toxicity. If you find toxicity and high cell death, it may be because DMEM base medium supplemented with 10% FBS and antibiotics was used to culture the cells. To remove the transfection toxicity, DMEM can be replaced with DMEM/F12 or RPMI 1640 as base medium. Although we haven't figured out why, it does minimize toxicity. Please try it!
