Iatroscan MK7s HPTLC/FID

The Iatroscan MK7s HPTLC/FID is a clever combination of two complementary technologies:
• Migration on HPTLC quartz rods
• FID electrode detection
This ingenious approach enables the Iatroscan MK7s to respond reliably to the problems encountered in characterizing certain substances with low volatility or no UV absorption.

The main advantages of the Iatroscan MK7s FID system are as follows:
• Simultaneous processing of up to 10 chromarods
• Wide range of applications
• Chromarods can be reused more than 50 times
• 20-30 minutes average analysis time (depending on method)

Product Description
Product Description
The most complicated samples can be qualified and quantified simply, quickly and economically, without the risk of column clogging and without the measurement uncertainty associated with the low UV reflection of some substances.
The Iatroscan MK-7s HPTLC/FID analytical system can be used in many fields of application, including plant breeding, forestry, fisheries, the crude oil and carbon industries, the biochemical industry, biotechnology, the pharmaceutical industry, environmental pollution, the food industry, etc.
The Iatroscan MK7s can be operated with Azur software, or directly controlled from your HPLC or GC software*.

Principle:
• Samples deposited on quartz rods coated with microgranulometric silica called Chromarods or microcolumn-S are eluted with aqueous or organic solvents.
• The separated constituents are detected by a flame ionization detector (FID), then identified and quantified. The Iatroscan MK7s can separate, identify and quantify samples down to a few nanograms.

5-step process:
1-Activating the Chromarods
Press the Blank Scan button to clean and reactivate the CHROMARODs by passing them through the flame of the hydrogen burner. Each Chromarod can be reused 50 times, or more, giving the set a potential of 500 analyses.
2-Sample Deposition
Using a microdispenser or automated system, deposit around 1µL of sample onto each Chromarod. Deposit can be partially or fully automated.
3-Separation
Install the Chromarods in the analysis chamber. Components are separated on the Chromarods by elution according to the recommended procedure.
4-Removal of solvent
When development is complete, place the rack in the drying oven to remove the solvent adsorbed by the Chromarods. The drying chamber is adapted to the size of the frame for rapid drying. A slight overpressure prevents dust from entering the chamber.
5-Measuring
Once the solvent has been removed from the Chromarods, place the rack in the Iatroscan measurement chamber and press Start to initiate the process. Measurement is performed according to the parameters entered in the menu. The analysis time for each Chromarod ranges from 25 to 60 sec. It is set by the operator when the menu is created.
