Introduction

Plasmodium falciparum is a unicellular protozoan parasite of humans, and the deadliest species of Plasmodium that causes malaria in humans. Pfs230 is a 363 kDa secreted protein containing 14 six-cysteine (6-Cys) domains and is important for gamete adherence to human red blood cells and subsequent oocyst formation.
