Infectious Bursal Disease Virus (IBDV) is a double-stranded RNA virus that causes a highly contagious disease in young chickens, known as Gumboro disease. IBDV targets the bursa of Fabricius, a primary lymphoid organ in birds, leading to immunosuppression and increased susceptibility to secondary infections.
